The Operations Advisor reports to the Medical Operations Manager based in Berlin and she/he provides day-to-day operational and strategic advice on a functional basis within a specific portfolio. 

In your role you will

  • Safeguard operational policies of the organisation
  • Manage the process and supports the content of control cycle reviews of missions.
  • Cooperate with other departments on identification of new or large-scale emergencies, security matters, new advocacy issues.
  • Represent the OST if the OM delegates this and proactively identifies and refers matters to the relevant people.
  • Facilitate the process of internal communication and advocacy
  • Support the country management team with field visits (up to 25% of total time outside Berlin).
  • Initiate and coordinate meetings between operations support team on a regular basis and when required beyond the regular meetings.
  • Coordinate the portfolio on administrative matters of a policy-related nature, including legal and compliance such as MoUs, HCA, registration, and legal cases in mission.

You Have

  • Field experience at the level of country management team e.g Head of mission
  • Flexibility and stress resistance in a fast paced work environment
  • Good communication skills as well as an excellent command of English
  • Analytical skills
  • Medical or paramedical background desirable 
  • Russian speaking is an added advantage 
  • Knowledge of MSF systems including finance, HR, logistics,communication and advocacy is important but not essential.

  • Payment according to a transparent internal salary structure; in this position according to group 5 with full-time employment (40h/week) from 3.438 Euro to a maximum of 4.350 Euro, depending on the relevant professional experience
