  • Independent networking and lobbying with political contacts in the context of forced displacement and migration as well as with other NGOs and think tanks
  • Research and monitor the positioning and policies of the German government on key areas of MSF interest
  • Organise and document advocacy activities
  • Represent MSF Germany at external events, conferences and meetings as well as media work
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies, taking over responsibility for content of own portfolio (e.g. search and rescue, implementation of MSF international’s framework on forced migration etc.) in proactive liaison with MSF’s operational centres and the MSF international office representative (especially in Brussels)
  • Prepare memos, reports and dossiers to be used internally and externally for advocacy purposes
  • Track advocacy related information including MSF list serves, meetings, calls, media, and publications and identifies advocacy targets
  • Support external communication by drafting press releases, letters, background papers and other material
  • Support internal reporting and planning processes


  • Relevant academic degree (Law, Politics, Humanitarian degree or similar)
  • At least three years relevant professional experience; work experience in contexts of forced displacement and migration is an asset
  • Profound experience in political work (preferably in Germany) on displacement and migration as well as representation and public speaking
  • Strong writing skills and confident command of a range of advocacy relevant communication channels from social media to letters to ministries
  • Proven representation skills combined with a capacity to act as a spokesperson on complex and at times sensitive topics
  • Excellent communications skills and confident public speaker in both German and English
  • An aptitude for research and analysis of topics relevant to MSF
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of MSF


  • Payment according to internal salary structure; in this position according to group 4 with full-time employment (40h/week) from 3,081 to a maximum of 3,898 Euro, depending on the relevant professional experience
